The Can Ginebreda Sculpture Forest , in Porqueres, the grace is to leave the trees behind, not so much to see the forest, but also to observe the sculptures that are spread over seven hectares of a pleasant and reflective walk. It is preceded by the reputation of an erotic and irreverent forest, but there is much more behind it. Reflections on life and death, pleasures, intolerance, hatred, destruction, violence, ambition, freedom and so many other issues. To Xicu Cabanyes, the artist of the works, what really matters to him, since the adventure began more than 40 years ago, is that his sculptures illuminate the truth to obscure hypocrisy. To fully enjoy the forest, you must walk, contemplate and experience this combination of art and nature. No wonder it is called “open air sculptures”. It will not leave you indifferent.
