Eight centuries of history lie hidden amongst the stones of Can Llovera, which have always been linked to the tending of the land and the raising of animals.

The year 1295 saw the first reference to this family. Ever since then, generation after generation of occupants have dwelled in this ancestral home.

Especially noteworthy is this traditional farmhouse’s unique architectural feature: the square tower, built at the end of the 19th century.

Alongside this ancestral home, and as an annex to the main building, is Cal Rajoler, dating from the middle of the 19th century and which, until recently, was inhabited by Can Llovera’s tenant farmers.

Outdoors

Just in front of the front door to Cal Rajoler is a terrace with table and chairs. Shaded by the wisteria leaves in the summer and warmed by the sun in the winter, the occupiers of the house while away many hours there, eating, enjoying a barbecue, or simply shooting the breeze.

Perhaps the most remarkable aspect of this farmhouse is the large garden surrounding it, with its different species of trees and shrubs, the results of the botanical leanings of some of the family members. By way of example, it contains an oak and a palm tree which are more than one hundred years old.

Set in this garden, and surrounded by trees, there is a barbecue and a swimming pool, enjoyed by young and old alike, and also a tennis table. Close to the pool, a large nettle-tree temps us to snooze under the shade of its leafy branches.

Indoors

Cal Rajoler is the former tenant farmhouse of the Can Llovera ancestral home, restored and converted to allow guests to enjoy the beauty of nature any time of the year. On the ground floor, after entering, there is the main kitchen, fully equipped with everything you need.

Beyond the kitchen is the dining room and the first living room, whose large windows look over the garden and swimming pool. At this level, there are two double bedrooms with garden views and a fully-equipped bathroom with a washing machine.

From the living room, a staircase takes us to the first floor, with its three bedrooms and fully-equipped bathroom.

With another staircase we descend to a lower level where we find the second living room with kitchenette and bathroom adapted. There is also the game room/activities, two doubles, a triple and two more bathrooms.

From this second living room and a ramp, you can also go into the garden and pool.

Environment

One of the things our guests most like to do is to relax and enjoy the house, the garden and the swimming pool. However, all manner of cultural, sporting and leisure activities are also possible. Be this strolling on paths alongside the fields of crops, through woods or following the lazy meander of the River Fluvià that loops around us, there are walks available for all kinds of legs. These same tracks can be covered by bike (we have mountain bikes) and, for the hardy, running. Additionally, there are many excursions and visits to be made, taking a half or full day, to get to know our district and its surroundings.

FAMILY WORKSHOPS, GAMES AND MASSAGE:

Aimed at families with children up to 6 years.

We try to set a workshop intended to start in the technique of infant massage, helping to improve the links parents, children and thus to benefit from the use of massage. Through games, stories and songs, we apply the technique of infant massage and learn to understand and appreciate the sense of touch and its benefits.

The duration is an hour and a half and the price 100-150 euros, depending on the number of families.

The workshop is the anchor of Mercè (house), and relational psychomotricists educator of infant massage.
