Cal Rellotger rural house to rent in its entirety is on the grounds of a property that dates back to before the 19th century, in the municipality of Fornells de la Selva, Gironès region. It is located just ten minutes from the city of Girona, 25 km from the Costa Brava, 70 km from the French border, 90 km from Barcelona and is beside the fields and forests of the Gavarres mountains.
This colonial-style rural house is very light and airy thanks to the large windows it has in all the rooms, from which you can see the River Onyar valley, the town of Fornells de la Selva and, in the distance, the Montseny mountains and Pyrenees.
The accommodation is all on one level, except for one bedroom which is reached via three steps, making it wheelchair accessible, with capacity for up to six people. There are three bedrooms, two with double beds and the other with twin beds; two bathrooms with shower, one of which has been adapted for people with physical disabilities; a kitchen equipped with small appliances, a four-burner hob, oven, microwave, fridge with a small freezer compartment (the washing machine is in one of the bathrooms); and a living-dining room with a fireplace for cold winter days, central heating as well as air conditioning in the common areas.
The house is surrounded by a large green area with a barbecue and there is a terrace with table and chairs where you can sit and enjoy the spectacular sunsets. 200 metres away there is a swimming pool, which is shared with the owner family, perfect for cooling off in on those hot summer days, and you can use 10.00a.m to 8.00p.m. Half June at the end of September.
If you love animals, at the main farmhouse, where the owners live, you will find a pair of donkeys, Brams and Neret, who are very sociable, especially if you bring them a nice juicy carrot! You will also meet Diva, a very independent dog who loves welcoming guests; Merdosa and Esquitx, the house cats; and various farmyard animals: ducks, geese, hens… who will delight young children.
Thanks to its excellent location, you can combine a relaxing stay at Cal Rellotger with visits to the monumental heritage of Girona, with its spectacular Cathedral of Santa Maria; walks through fertile meadows nourished by the River Onyar; or day trips to the beach, as just half an hour away you will find the seaside towns of Sant Antoni de Calonge, Palamós, Platja d’Aro, Sant Feliu de Guíxols and some of the most spectacular coves on the Costa Brava.
