Can Carreras del Mas is a 19th-century farmhouse built in the traditional Catalan style. It is located close to the historic centre of Bordils, a small village 10 km from Girona, 25 km from the beaches of Central Costa Brava, and 100 km from Barcelona. The house can host families, couples and groups, and offers rooms to rent in rural accommodation as well as the possibility of renting the entire farmhouse.
This farmhouse accommodation is on the ground floor, without architectural barriers, and it exudes a feeling of calm and tranquillity thanks to its cosy decoration and stone walls. Can Carreras del Mas has a well-equipped kitchen, large dining room, living room with television and central fireplace and free WiFi throughout the house. It has four large bedrooms each with a television and en-suite bathroom with shower and hairdryer. All the rooms have direct access to the garden.
Outside, there is a large garden where you can enjoy the sunshine that delights guests who enjoy nature and beautiful views. The property is totally fenced in with a private gate, for peace of mind for both adults and children. There is also a private swimming pool, several covered terraces, a ping-pong table, bicycles for all ages… In addition, there is a large vegetable garden and some small farmyard animals.
The house uses renewable and sustainable energy: photovoltaic solar panels to cover the house’s energy needs and solar panels to provide hot water.
The fantastic location of this rural accommodation makes it an ideal base for enjoying all kinds of activities and excursions. You can visit the city of Girona, which boasts a wealth of historical and cultural heritage, Gala-Dalí Castle in Púbol, and the picturesque town of Monells. We are at the foot of the Gavarres mountains, where you can discover the beauty of its landscapes while hiking or mountain biking various well-signposted routes such as the visit to Els Àngels sanctuary, with its breathtaking views of the Gironès and Empordà regions, and all the way to the sea.
Bordils lies in the Ter riverbed, a river plain that reaches as far as the beaches of the Costa Brava. We recommend visiting the seafaring towns of L’Escala, Pals, Begur, Calella de Palafrugell and Tamariu, among others, with their spectacular beaches and coves. Another highly recommended day trip is Empúries, where you will find the most important Greco-Roman archaeological site in Catalonia.
