Mas Camins B&B is in Avinyonet de Puigventós, a quiet village in the heart of the Alt Empordà, just 5 km from Figueres and the Dalí Museum. It is inland, in tramontana country, but at the same time within easy reach of the northern Costa Brava and the Garrotxa region. This lovingly-restored eighteenth-century farmhouse combines the charm of the old days with all the commodities of modern life.
Surrounded by the Empordà’s characteristic fields and rolling countryside, this country guesthouse is for adults only and can accommodate up to ten guests. Mas Camins aims to provide a calm, restful environment where guests can relax and unwind amidst nature.
The house has 4 rooms, each with an ensuite bathroom, central heating and independent air conditioning. The beauty of the first room, Romaní, lies in its simplicity, with a queen-size bed, bathroom with shower, private terrace and garden views. The second double room, Espígol, has a queen-size bed, dressing room and bathroom with bath. It was once the hayloft and has a large private terrace with views of the courtyard. The third room is Farigola, with views of the fields where the owners’ horses graze behind the house. It has a bathroom with shower, a double and a single bed and can sleep 2 or 3 people. The last room, Olivera, is in the former kitchen and overlooks the garden and the entrance to the village. It has a queen-size bed and large bathroom with bath. There is free WiFi throughout the house.
Each morning you’ll be able to enjoy a delicious healthy breakfast with a varied seasonal selection of homemade jams, yogurts, smoothies and cakes along with local charcuterie, cheese, oil, fruit and vegetables. The menu is carefully adapted to cater for guests’ needs and tastes (gluten-free, lactose-free, vegetarian, vegan…).
Mas Camins boasts a great location halfway between the sea and the mountains, which means that you’ll find no end of nature, sports, cultural and heritage activities to keep you busy. Go off the beaten tourist track and explore the surrounding Garrotxa d’Empordà area, a hidden gem ideal for cycling and hiking. And, of course, if you’re foodies don’t miss the numerous local restaurants and the DO Empordà Wine Route, with its host of gourmet activities.
