Mas Molera rural accommodation is located in the town of Begudà, in the municipality of Sant Joan les Fonts, in the heart of the Garrotxa Volcanic Zone Natural Park, just 5 km from the city of Olot. It is set in some of the most spectacular surroundings in north-eastern Catalonia, amid lush forests, natural springs and streams. The rural accommodation occupies an 11th-century farmhouse that was extended over the centuries to comprise two main buildings, the oldest of which was used by sharecroppers who tended the farm. The house sleeps a total of 20 people divided among four apartments: the main building, the Casa Pairal, and the apartments Pic de les Bruixes, Bassegoda, and Mont-ros, which can be rented individually or together. All the houses have heating, air conditioning and WiFi.
Pic de les Bruixes is located in the former sharecropper’s house. It is a single storey building that sleeps four people. It boasts a magnificent north-facing terrace that offers views of the Comanegre, Sant Marc and Pic de les Bruixes mountains, after which the accommodation is named. There is a kitchen, living-dining room with fireplace and television, two double bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with twin beds, and a full bathroom.
In the shared outdoor areas there is a barbecue and dining area with a large table, a children’s play area with sandpit, a grassy field with a volleyball net, a large multipurpose room with a games area, seating area and ping-pong table, and a swimming pool, with zones for adults and for children, perfect for sunbathing or taking a refreshing dip.
Mas Molera is very well-located for visiting Garrotxa county. In the same town you will find the Romanesque church of Santa Eulàlia de Begudà (12th century) and nearby the Cossei bridge. We also recommend visiting Juvinyà castle in Sant Joan les Fonts, which dates back to the 12th-14th centuries, and is one of the best-preserved examples of medieval civil architecture civil in Garrotxa county.
From the house it is also possible to walk to several volcanoes such as Aiguanegra with its spectacular 360º views from the top, or hike the Three Flows Route, which passes through an interesting area of basaltic cliffs, the Boscarró quarry and the Fontfreda cliffs formed by cooled lava flows from several different volcanoes.
We’re sorry but pets are not allowed at Mas Molera.
