Lying between Pla de l’Estany and Alt Empordà, in the hamlet of Parets d’Empordà in Vilademuls we find Mas Torrencito, a very curious rural house that rents rooms; it’s a house with and for animals.
This rural accommodation is located in an old manor house dating from the 14th century, which has eight bedrooms to rent, some of them double and others triple. The Gingebre (Ginger) room is the largest, and is en-suite. It has a 2 metre x 2 metre double bed, a living room with 60-inch television, coffee maker, air conditioning, full bathroom with shower and a dog bed and food and water bowls. The other rooms, all named after fruits, have a large double bed, full bathroom with shower, television and a dog bed and food and water bowls.
The common areas include a large games room, with the high ceilings and wooden beams typical of Catalan farmhouses, where you will find a large high-definition screen for watching the more than 300 films in the library. There is also an office equipped with a fridge full of different soft drinks and juices, microwave, coffee maker with a large selection of coffees, teas and infusions and a small pantry with the home-made jams prepared by the owners of the house.
Mas Torrencito also has a dining room with fireplace located in the house’s former stables. The room is bright and airy, as it has two large windows. The ceiling has the typical Catalan vault, and in the middle of the space there is a large table measuring over 12 metres long, and decorated tastefully.
Breakfasts at Mas Torrencito are for authentic gourmets. Choose between the variety of home-made cakes, locally-sourced cured meats, country-style bread, home-made jams, orange juice, coffees, teas and infusions… A delicious breakfast to enjoy at your leisure.
Mas Torrencito is set within seven hectares of woodland where you will find gardens, porches, children’s swings, a heated swimming pool and parking.
The excellent location of this property, just 14 kilometres from Figueres, 20 kilometres from Girona and 14 kilometres from L’Escala, makes it ideal for those who want to spend a day by the sea, visit the historical city of Girona or discover the Dalí Museum in Figueres. There are also many excursions to enjoy from the house, crossing fields and woods or along the banks of Catalonia’s most famous lake: Estany de Banyoles.
